Gentle reader,

WAY back in May 11, 2018, I wrote an article about my restoring and improving a pair of ADVENT BABY ADVENT II speakers. The Robb Collections: Restomoding a pair of Vintage Advent Baby Advent II Speakers

The article has been read many times. Which is great! Thank you, readers. Now, if you do a search (Google) vintage audio equipment, chances are, you will see MY images of that particular equipment which I had written about here in The Robb Collections. However, Google, DuckDuckGo and other search engines list the SOURCE of those images, as they should, in their search results.

Recently, Skylabs Audio's YouTube channel was suggested to me by the mighty computer brains which keep track of what one watches on YouTube. I LIKE their videos! The are well presented, the host is personable and I have watched many of their videos. Now, this one: 9 Vintage Speakers YOU MUST Hear Before You Die! - YouTube was one I particularly enjoyed because several of the speakers he speaks about ARE ones which I have desired as far back as the 1970's.

However when the first image of the first speakers the host was praising, the ADVENT Baby Advent, the image above was shown, beginning at 2:23 in the video. I sat straight up and said, "That's MY picture!" Was I upset? No, I was delighted! Here is the original photo to compare:
They cropped it, removed the cowboy rifle, the Jackelope and a few other details. They also altered the image to remove my KLIPSCH KG4 speakers and replaced them with wooden somethings. However, no jury member would ever argue that it is not my image of my system

Below are images from my article which show that I clearly changed the look of the factory finish on the wooden top and bottom pieces to make them a little darker to match the black grilles.

I was listening to them in this room, The Office. They were atop my Cerwin-Vega! LS-12 speakers at the time.

I removed one dustcap to align the cone (below). The other (above) did not need that.

Before refinishing  the wood, above and after, below.
Here is the darker look of the wood, which I applied. Below is an image from US Audio Mart's advertisement of a pair they were selling:

All that I ask of Skylabs Audio, and others who use my images, is that they give credit to the owner of images they use in their videos, as I have done above.

Now, legally, any image a persons makes is automatically copyrighted. Sadly since BILLIONS of images and videos are constantly being uploaded to the Internet, there is no way to protect all of our copyrights. Other's images are "stolen" all the time and used by those people without the image maker's permission. Often, those same images are likely making money for the thieves.

I, however consider the use of my images as a credit to my skills as a photographer and published author. I'm not a vindictive person. Nor, do I wish to make attorneys more wealthy.

All that being said, thanks for taking the time to read my article and viewing my images. Feel free to leave a comment below or via Facebook. I write two other blogs which can be read here: Pictures of Nancy. The Love of My Life. and here: People Say I'm Special. But I Don't Know Why
