I don't know what this is, but isn't it pretty! It and another one are growing right out front.
This is Anthony our third grandson.
Isn't he a cutie! He's nine months old and automatically knew what to do with a toy car.
THIS is a water lilly. We have a pond that we made in the back yard and every so often, one of these blooms.
This is Kate, our oldest daughter with grandsons number one, Kyle on the left and two, Zachary (Zak) in the foreground. This was back in October, 2008, so they've grown! Even Katie as she's expecting child number three!
This is Susan, SueSue to me, Suzie to her friends. She is daughter number two and quite a character. No marriage plans, but a long time boyfriend, Ryan who I think is terrific.
This is youngest son Daniel and his girl, Allison. They are quite in love. we approve.
I love this shot of Zak! Isn't it great?
This is a casual shot of Bekka, Anthony's mom from when he was still growing inside. It's from almost one year ago.
This is another shot, I'm pleased with. It looks like Katie was worried about something, but she was just thinking.
This is Kyle in his way cool shades!
This is another shot I'm tickled with. Looks posed doesn't it? What a cutie!
This is a great, un-posed, picture of the boys. We have a Play Station 2 and do a lot of driving/racing simulator games.
Both wanted to play with the steering wheels.
Going back to 6-1-07 when Zack was wee, and Katie and Tim still lived in an apartment near us. They've since bought an old house in an older town called Front Royal, Virginia. Anyway, my mom was up from Atlanta visiting and came over to see. Does Nancy look 42 to you?
Some kids that like to hang out in the front garden. He's always making a move on her!
Our two cats, Tiger and Mo. Her stripes are subtle.
I don't know what this is either. Nancy and I had visited Mason Neck park. We couldn't find any part of Mason, let alone his neck. But, we did see other cool stuff like this....thing at right.
And these remnants of an old wooden barge.
Plus this pretty butterfly, or is it a moth? Butterfly, I think.
And this pretty one too.
Back to our backyard, is this face/planter thing Nancy bought.
This is from when my dad and his wife visited all the way from California.
OK, from the left it's my niece Amy's with her husband, with me above Amy. Sister Judy to my left with Katie in front of her. Then Dad and Beth with Bekka in front. Then my brother Jim's family, up from Richmond.
Finally for today, a shot of Bekka and her LONG legs as featured at her cousin Mike's wedding in West Virginia.
Living Room Stereo Progression
Hi,
I only occasionally add to this blog because it is obvious that no one is following it.* Still it is something to do in a way of cataloging and "immortalizing" a lot of the stuff we have accumulated over the years.
I had previously had photos of stereo equipment in this blog, but all photos loaded on all pages, so I deleted them. So, I'm trying another whack at it.
I don't have any digitized photos of stereos of old, but do have one from 2004 which was made with our first digital camera with a whopping 1.3 megapixels. It was rack-mounted and located in the dining room with the speakers in the living room. I must have had a reason for doing it that way, but don't remember now why. It is below.
I don't have ANY of that equipment now. Next is after moving the rack to the office and buying a nice large TV glass and steel stand to hold the equipment.
As you can see, it is half silver and half black. As my stereo roots extend back to the 1970's I liked silver equipment. However over time, it all went to black. Lately there has been a trend towards more and more silver stuff. Below is phase two. This is right after I found the bargain of the century at Salvation Army when some audiophile donated the Adcom equipment and they priced the "set" at $149.00! Next is phase three. You have to carefully compare the pictures to see what has changed. It has. Now for phase four.Again, look carefully. Think of it as that game with two seemingly identical pictures and you are supposed to count the differences. Below is what it looks like now, as believe it or not, (Nancy doesn't) I'm done:On another page of this blog, you will find the list of this equipment. Below is one of the speakers, Radio Shacks best ever; Optimus Pro 4000, without the grille.Looking closely at the "final" phase, I see that in fact, there are two new items. One is atop the little LED power meter, it is a really nice speaker switch that lets me play the music, in here, in the living room, or both. Plus, where the little wooden thing (Discwasher record cleaner) sits in that photo now sits the complete Discwasher system. I was quite psyched to finally get one after decades of wanting to have it.
Now, the speakers that are in here that I rebuilt. The left one above has all the new drivers, the right one only so far had the new woofer. The far left picture features the grille and LYRIC badge.
That's it for today. I hope someone, somewhere reads this someday!
* OK, so based on new information, not only ARE people (this means YOU) reading my blogs, but quite a few of you are! For that I thank you!
